My Story

Kristen Anderson, Founder + CEO @kristenanderson @kristenandersonpr

Hey ya’ll! Kristen here.

Originally from Washington D.C., I started my career with determination, grit, and perseverance, like many of us do. After graduating from Sweet Briar College, (Go Vixens!) I began my corporate journey at a technology PR firm working on marketing campaigns with large-scale brands in the technology industry and on Capitol Hill.

Switching gears a couple of years later, I decided to learn a new skill— I was eager to learn sales. I joined the advertising sales team at Washingtonian Magazine, the leading print magazine in the industry, which was a huge accomplishment for me considering I grew up reading the publication! Within the first year I earned the title for Most Territory Growth and Most Print Revenue Growth, netting the company $1.2 million in sales. This is when I realized I was onto something. I love building new relationships and meeting new people every day; I loved that I never felt like i was “selling” people. I was elevating the brands of my clients.

Leaving Washingtonian was one of the hardest decisions I’ve made, but Nashville was calling my name— I needed a change of scenery. I needed a new adventure. So I called a moving truck, packed all of my bags, celebrated with my friends and family, and drove to Nashville without looking back.

I joined the Nashville Lifestyles Magazine team when I moved in March 2017. Six months later I left the company to start Kristen Anderson PR, a modern full-service public relations agency.

My passion is cultivating authentic relationships. My passion is engaging in my community. My passion is elevating brands and the lives of others through meaningful public relations.

Through my seven years of corporate experience and my love for engaging with the community, I have been able to work with local, national, and international brands within my first year of launching Kristen Anderson PR. And we are just getting started!

What do I do in my free time? You can find me taking a spin class, enjoying the amaze food scene here in Nashville, catching up on the latest book or podcast, (if you haven’t listened to WorkParty—subscribe now!) or volunteering in the community.

I cannot wait to meet you!
